TENS Machine Terms & Conditions

• The TENS machine must only be used by the person named on the hire form.

• Please discuss your plan of using the TENS machine with your care provider/midwife/doctor before hiring the TENS machine for use.

• Please follow the instructions provided for using the TENS machine.

• Do not use near water (such as in a bath, shower or pool) – you must take the TENS machine off if you decide to use water in labour for pain relief or use water at the time of birth.

• The TENS machine SHOULD NOT be used by persons with a cardiac pacemaker.

• Persons with heart disease or epilepsy should seek approval from their doctor before use.

• The success of the TENS machine cannot be guaranteed.

• The full amount of $100 is required to be paid before the TENS machine is received by the individual hiring the unit.

• Delay in returning the TENS by the due date will result in you being charged $15 for each week or any part of a week over the hire period until the TENS is returned. Please contact Berth if there is an issue in returning the TENS machine on time.

• Should the TENS machine be returned damaged, contaminated with body fluids or with missing parts Berth reserve the right to charge additional fees for cleaning, repairs or replacements.

• If the machine is not returned for any reason, you will be charged for that unit ($180). If the machine is returned incomplete, you are charged accordingly for the missing item/s.

• The TENS machine must be returned in the bag provided.

• In the event of damage to, or loss of the TENS machine, the full retail value ($180) is payable to Berth by you.

• You should check the contents of the hire pack upon receipt and familiarise yourself with the TENS machine and the instructions. Please advise Berth of any problems whatsoever immediately.

• Berth is not accountable for any injury or damage sustained as a result of misuse.

• In the event of a hire cancellation AFTER the TENS machine has been dispatched or picked up NO REFUND can be made.

• No refund is given if the TENS machine is not used, unclaimed, or otherwise.
